Bob’s Gas are agents for Genesis Energy bottled LPG in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Genesis Energy is New Zealand’s largest energy retailer and offers a wide range of energy services.
Bob’s Gas collects, checks, fills and delivers all bottled LPG to Genesis account holders from Otamarakau to East Cape, including Kawerau, Edgecumbe, Whakatane, Opotiki, and Te Araroa. Our delivery service includes home and commercial 45kg LPG bottles and 15kg and 20kg Forklift bottles for Genesis account holders.
Bob’s Gas is unique in that, unlike other providers, we have our own bulk LPG tank and all bottles are filled in Whakatane. This means we can continuously offer our legendary service without interruption or delays.
Safety is Paramount
Bob’s Gas inspects every bottle before filling and we pride ourselves on being vigilant about safety, both for you and our staff. Our pre-fill checks include whether the bottle has a valid test date and bottle safety checks. After filling, we check for leaks at the valve and then all bottles are sprayed with a long acting disinfectant after loading.
When delivering, we check your connections and bottle restraints (chains). When the bottle is connected, we leak test the newly filled bottle as well as all the connections around the regulator, giving you peace of mind.
Reliable Accurate Filling
All bottles are filled using a computerised filling station to ensure you get exactly what you pay for. We enter the bottle’s tare weight (stamped on the side) into our electronic scales, then fill the bottle until it contains exactly 45kg of Genesis LPG. Or 27kg, 18kg, 12kg, 9kg or 4.5kg depending on the bottle size. Our scales are calibrated annually to make sure our measurement is accurate.
